A results oriented professional in Environmental Studies and Community Development, serving as a lecturer at Kenyatta University. I have a PhD in Environmental Studies and Community Development (Kenyatta University). I have a wealth of experience spanning over 10 years as a Lead Expert in Environmental and Social Impact Assessment for different infrastructure projects, and 9 years of experience as a University Lecturer. Within those years, I have gained ample experience in Environmental and Social Management and Assessment, managing teams to successfully accomplish Environmental and Social Impact Assessment tasks, evaluation and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research students. My positions as a lecturer at Kenyatta University and a Lead ESIA Expert have served as a work environment conducive to the development of the virtues of team work, analytical skills, attention to details, focus on results and quality, strategic thinking, simultaneously managing multiple projects, and work ethics. The mix of experts and community leaders that I have interacted with, both in Kenya and in Somalia, has nurtured in me respect for social and cultural diversity. Having served as a Lead Consultant for various Environmental and Social Impact Assessments funded by the World Bank, Africa Development Bank, IFAD, UN-Habitat and USAID, I have gained ample experience and familiarity with the IFC Performance Standards and World Bank Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Guidelines.
