In addition to satisfying the University entrance requirements, candidates for admission to the Bachelor of Environmental Studies (Planning and Management) programme are required to have obtained a good pass (B-) in K.C.S.E. or its equivalent with at least three of their subjects in Geography, Mathematics, Technical Drawing,Economics, Fine Art, Agriculture, Biology, English, Business Studies and Computer Science.
The students under this programme (EPM) will be required to take all core units in addition to appropriate electives approved by the Department.
In order to impart the skills required for environmentally sustainable physical planning and design of space for all forms of utilization and development as well as meet the Professional Planning Registration requirements, the degree pattern will be 220.127.116.11 and guided by the following conditions:
(a) In addition to the mandatory four (4) University Common Units, students in the First Year of study (100 Series) must take all 6 core units, 3 of which must be Studio Units, from the Department, and the remaining two (2) units from two other Departments.
(b) In the Second Year of study (200 Series), students shall be required to take 9 units (6 core and 3 elective units) from the Department and the remaining 3 units from other Departments.
(c) In the Third and Fourth Years (300 and 400 Series), all 12 units shall be taken in the Department.
Students will register for any four (4) common units in the relevant departments.
